Alex Mowery
Visual Instructor/Cymbal Tech

Alex is a native of Atlanta, GA and moved to South Carolina at the age of 12. He is a graduate of Dutch Fork High School (2003) and a graduate the University of South Carolina where he earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Music (2007) and a Master’s in Teaching degree in Secondary Mathematics Education (2008). His marching experiences include most recently the Six-Time WGI World Champions Music City Mystique (2007), Epiphany Indoor Percussion (2005-06), Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps (2005), and the University of South Carolina Drumline (2003-04). He has also performed with the USC Percussion Ensemble, the USC Palmetto Pans Steel Pan Ensemble, and the USC Symphony Orchestra.

Alex recently taught on Visual Staff for Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008 and this will be his second year with Palmetto Percussion. He has also taught at various high schools in South Carolina including Dutch Fork, Brookland-Cayce, Airport, and Lexington, and is the drill writer for A.C. Flora High School. He is currently in his fourth year at Lexington High School as Percussion Caption Head and working for the University of South Carolina as a Research Assistant for the Melton Observatory.
